On injuries and old cars and bad weather

Last night was our 15th day of shooting Red Scare. Yesterday was a very long day. The shoot was amazingly smooth and lasted only 90 minutes. It was everything else about the day that was long.

The day started with shitty weather and me being glued to www.weather.com constantly checking the % for percipitation. Then, I decided that even if it rained, we should shoot. Yesterday's scene could easily be reimagined to happen indoors. So, I set to work on finding a plan B, which I did. (Thanks, McCords!!!) Fortunately, as the day went on, the % for rain went down. It looked good for us.

Then, the night's lead actress informed me that she had a work related incident involving a pen, an asshole kid, and her eye that left her barely able to open her eye. Selfishly, I asked if she could still act if she could get someone to drive her there. She agreed and we picked her up, and she was so awesome about the whole thing. I feel bad, but we did get our shoot and she was awesome per usual. Here's hoping her eye heals up.

The weather reports changed as we made our way to set and the sky did not look friendly... but it stayed good for us throughout. It didn't rain once actually.

Beyond that, we had the great Tinea, Becky Sue Bunch, and Sir William of Farley on set as well and they were all nothing less than great.

The very generous Gene Klumpp allowed us the use of his beautiful car, and was very patient as we started late and shot with his car.

So, yeah... That went well. We resume shooting on Monday.

Stay tuned!
