Celebrating Good Times

An earthquake rocks the North East. A giant hurricane bears down on NJ as I type. It sounds like something out of a movie, but that's what this week's been like. But it's not all natural disaster type things going on. Last night, we had the wrap party for Red Scare at Hendrickson's in Bayonne.

It was a great time, celebrating the great work of the summer of 2011. Delicious food, great people, it made for a really fun night. Joey Mosca was gracious enough to run kareoke for us, after demanding that there be kareoke at the party =). Billy D. was able to bring three scenes from the movie on his iPad so the cast & crew could get an early look at the progress of the movie.

The incredibly awesome Elizabeth White designed and created another amazing cake for us. Last year she blew us away with her BGR cake, and this year she went above and beyond with our Red Scare cake. Check out the detail in the pictures below. She has a cake Rex Steel! Cake Vlad Sinisterski! The cake version of my American flag tie! Stills from the movie on the cake!!!! So awesome. I can't thank her enough, but I can keep trying.

It was a really good night. Moreso than anything else yet, this has felt like the closing of a chapter for Red Scare. Post continues, and there is still work to do, but this is the last official time that the cast and crew are going to meet all together until the screening. It's a bit bittersweet. I only wish I could've spent more time with each person at the party, because this is just such an amazing group of people to work with and be around. At last year's wrap party, the last thing I was thinking about was working on another project. Now, I can't wait to jump into something new, and bring some of these amazing people, old and new, along for the ride.

That is all for now. Enjoy the below pictures. And STAY SAFE this weekend. I don't want anything happening to you before you get to see Red Scare ;)

Stay tuned,

A Very Big Thank You

When we first started raising money, we had no idea how far we would get. The economy is bad, people gave to us last year, etc etc etc... We set the goal for $7,500, and I am happy to say that we ended the fundraising last night with a grand total of $7,645. So, thank you so much to everyone who gave and helped us spread the word about Red Scare. You will all receive your complimentary ticket(s) to the first screening once that is all set up. Below is a list of everyone who gave. If you are one of those who gave, please check the list, and make sure (a) you are on it and (b) that your name is spelled the way you want it in the credits. (The executive producers list below is only for those who gave to indiegogo; there will be other Exec. Producers listed in the actual credits of the film.)

This is the end of fundraising for us, but it is only the beginning for everything else. We are in post production mode and we are attempting to make this movie as great as we all know it can be.

Stay tuned to this blog for news on the upcoming screening, and all things Red Scare.

Once again, on behalf of the cast & crew of Red Scare, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Stay tuned,

4 Days Left & One More Plea

There are 4 days left in our Indiegogo campaign. As I type this blog up, we are currently at $5,365. Our goal is $7,500. That means, for those who hate math as much as I do, that we have $2,135 left until we reach our goal. That is a pretty substantial amount in a very short period of time.

To those who have already donated (and some of you multiple times), I thank you once again on behalf of everyone who worked on Red Scare. You have gone above and beyond, and I love you for that. I am not asking you to donate more, but if you want to, I won't say no... But I will ask that you take the time to share the indiegogo link (www.indiegogo.com/red-scare). Do it on your facebook pagee, your twitter feed... Go to your email address book, and just send a mass email.

In four days, donations will close, and you won't have to see the constant emails, facebook posts, and blogs that ask for money. (The next time you see those will be if/when we start selling tickets to the first screening.) So, as a last plea for donations, I offer the following reasons.

*The movie is really, really good. It is a step up in quality from what we have done before. We took everything we learned on BGR, and stepped up our game in every way. Our equipment is better, our crew is more seasoned and comfortable working with each other, and our actors are far and away some of the best I have ever worked with.

*If you donate as little as $15, you help us out big time, and you secure yourself a ticket to the 1st screening. Depending on where we screen, there may only be tickets for cast, crew, and donors... But if you donate in the next 3 days, I will make sure that you have a secured ticket.

*Tickets to the screening will be more than $15 if you do not donate. But if you do donate, you can get additional tickets for the same, discounted price.

*Like I said, this cast & crew are simply amazing, and the work everyone has done will blow you away. And everyone has worked for free. We are all doing this simply because we love doing it, because this is what we do. No one is making money at this point from this movie; some of us will wind up losing money. But we all believe in the project so much, that we are willing to do this. A donation from you today helps us with the financial burden of movie making... It also shows us that we have support in making these movies. And that goes a long way.

*At the first screening, we plan on premiering several trailers for potential future projects. This is how Red Scare started, and I am very excited about all of the trailers that we have discussed making for the "Red Scare" screening. If you donate, and come to the screening, you will be the first people to see these trailers.

*Like I mentioned above, donating shows support; and the more support we see, the more inclined we will be to continue making such projects as "Loster," "Langsomer Tod," "The Man With The Red Bowtie," "The Journey," and more. (Those are the names of some of the trailers, by the way.)

*You have the chance to get plenty of great, limited edition perks. I am still asked about BGR shirts, WWBCD? Bracelets, and autographed pictures, but the only ones who have received those great perks were the ones who donated to BGR.

So there you have it. There may be plenty of reasons why you do not want to donate; but there are so many reasons to help us out.

That is all for now. We are busy in post production mode. Below, I am attaching some thing a friend of mine did in honor of Red Scare using an iphone filter app. It is pretty cool.

Stay tuned!

A NEW TRAILER!!!!!

This past Sunday, I released the latest trailer for Red Scare. You can view it at our youtube page:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzFXVuk-Yts&feature=player_embedded

Or you can view it in the gallery section of the indiegogo page:

www.indiegogo.com/red-scare

And below are some stills from the trailer.

I am really very happy with the trailer. I gotta thank Andrew Danish for his voice over, Sean Feuer for teaching me everything I know about trailers, Isaac Platizky for giving me some feedback as I made the trailer, and most importantly the amazing cast & crew who really make the trailer come to life. Seriously, this is just the briefest of glimpses at the movie. There is so much that is great about the film; I personally cannot wait to see it.

Speaking of seeing it, we do plan to hold a screening of the movie before we begin submitting to film festivals. No date is nailed down yet, because we are just starting post, but we hope to have the movie viewable sooner rather than later. For the Red Scare screening, we will be giving top ticket priority to cast, crew, and donors. So, those people will have their complimentary tickets to start and will get first crack at purchasing more tickets. If you donate (or are part of the cast and crew), you will also be able to purchase additional tickets at a discounted rate. More details to come as we approach the screening, but the moral of the story is, if you are not cast, crew, or a donor you will have to pay more for tickets... Also, you may not be able to get a ticket if we sell out. So, donate asap! There are only 11 days left to do so. Trust me, you will not regret it. This movie is going to be great.

Stay tuned!
